Leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of BlackBerry moblies, Research In Motion, has launched its latest smartphone version, BlackBerry Storm2, in India.

The Canadian-smartphone maker's new touch-screen phone comes with enhanced SurePress technology, based on an electronic system that responds equally to gentle pressure applied anywhere on the surface of the screen.

"The new smartphone is based on SurePress technology that offers customers a powerful and unique mix of advanced communications and multimedia features for consumers and business professionals," RIM's managing director (India), Frenny Bawa, said in a press release in Mumbai on Monday.

It also allows the user to type a letter with one thumb even while the other thumb may still be touching or resting on another letter, enabling faster typing and multi-key actions, the release stated.

The smartphone has glass lens, stainless steel back plate and a high resolution display.

It also has a 256 MB of flash memory and 2 GB of on-board memory storage and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports upto 16 GB cards.
