Information and communication technology will change the future of the country, particularly in energy and measurement of carbon emissions, said Founder-Chairman, Infosys Technologies, N R Narayana Murthy in Kolkata on Thursday.
Speaking at Infocom 2010-11, he said: "Information and communication technology will be used for digital marketisation that translates into use of energy and measurement of carbon emissions."
He said with the help of ICT, there was a need to re-look at traditional models of business management where "democratisation of innovation will be the new mantra".
Murthy said when the Unique Identity Development Authority of India becomes fully functional, it will help to identify services and money will reach those for whom it was intended without fraud.
The challenges before the society were 100 per cent literacy, food, water and energy security, he said.
