When was the last time you heard the Indian boss of a company doling out huge freebies, paid vacations and bonuses to his staffers?

Well, there are few exceptions like Savji Dholakia.

 

Last year, Surat-based diamond exporter Savji Dholakia of Hari Krishna Exports hit the headlines when he gifted flats, cars and jewellery to over 1,200 of his employees.

Around 491 employees received cars, 207 got funds for buying residential flats and another 570 were given jewellery.  Each of the employees received a gift of Rs 4 lakhs.

Indeed a very generous gesture!

Nevzat Aydin’s generosity is inspiring and heart-warming. 

From a start-up with just 3 employees, Nevzat Aydin from Turkey steered his company into a successful food delivery company -  Yemeksepeti . In August 2015, 15 years after he started his company, he sold  it for $589 million.

He showed the world the wonderful way to treat the loyal staffers by sharing a staggering $36 million among 114 employees.

Each employee is now richer by $237,000 on an average. Employees were rewarded on the basis of their performance and number of years at the company.

What makes it more interesting is that Bart Lorang, CEO of startup company, FullContact offers $7,500 every year to employees on the condition that they must be completely cut off from office!

As Leonardo Del Vecchio, the founder and chairman of Italian eyewear company Luxottica celebrated his 80th birthday, he gifted 140,000 shares of the company to employees.

Around 8,000 employees received a whopping $10 million shares. It was divided among employees on the basis of their seniority.

Indeed a great gesture for a person, who was an orphan and started working as a factory worker.

Supporting employee’s children

Chieh Huang, CEO of Online retailer Boxed has made an unusual offer of offering assistance for children of employees for their further studies.

The company which has around 100 employees will ensure children are given the funds to pursue University education.

He believes that education should be a top priority. Majority of his staff are warehouse workers. He wants to make sure that they have access to good education.

 

Li Jinyuan

Company: Tiens Group

A holiday in Paris

In May this year, China's Tiens Group Co treated more than half of its 12,000 employees to a four-day holiday in France and booked up 140 hotels in Paris as part of the package.

Li founded the group in 1995 and has expanded it into an international conglomerate with businesses in biotechnology, health management, e-commerce, hotel and tourism among others.
