August saw the release of some popular compact cars which seem to be fast becoming the favourites of the Indian masses.

We have witnessed a tremendous increase in the sales of the compact vehicles leaving their larger counterparts pretty far behind.

Because of their high popularity, every big manufacturer out there is trying to launch their models with sizes within 4-meter, which has the added advantage of tax reliefs.

The market for compact cars has become really cut-throat.

Let's have a quick look on five cars that have graced the market recently and have been trying their very best to delight the Indian buyers.

Fiat Punto Evo

Released on August 5, the Italian manufacturer gifted an absolute stunning beauty to us in the form of the Punto EVO which turns heads wherever it goes.

Hate it or love it, but you can’t ignore it! One of the most flamboyant hatchbacks out there, the EVO has managed to fully capture the attention of everyone.

Even though it has been modernised a little bit, the EVO still manages to retain its Italian core.

It comes with a price which is very much reduced and is giving its competitors a lot of tension.

Guaranteed to make the sales of Fiat soar sky high, it offers features which leave its biggest competitor the Swift way behind.

Car fans finally breathed a sigh of relief on August 7 when Audi released India’s most awaited sedan, the Audi A3.

This car is Audi’s cheapest ever offering in India. The Mercedes A-class and BMW 1-series hatches have some seriously tough competition now since the sales of Audi A3 are expected to go high.

With a design that is pure Audi, luxurious and highly comfortable interiors, high end features and powerful engines; the Audi A3 is completely worth your money.

The manufactures released the sedan in both petrol and diesel variants. Audi India became the first luxury car manufacturer to cross the 10,000 unit’s marks and is one of the most famous brands out there.

The Audi A3 will certainly create a huge impact in India since it creates an opening in the luxury compact sedan segment which was very much unexplored till now.

The Indian sedan buyers will truly have world class options to choose from after this launch since other big brands too will be making forays into this segment.
