Jet Airways is offering a million tickets at 25 per cent discount in a four day offer beginning Wednesday. The discounted tickets are valid for travel between June 15-October 15.
Jet's discount offer comes following similar such promotions by SpiceJet and IndiGo. Till afternoon other airlines had not reacted to the Jet's offer but sources in travel trade said SpiceJet is likely to match Jet Airways discounts with its own sale.
Jet Airways has a market share of 23 per cent and has a daily capacity (inventory) of 65,000 seats on domestic routes. Discount offers help airline to increase forward bookings and raise cash.
On Wednesday the airline announced it is offering 25 per cent discounts on flights to 51 domestic destinations.
On Mumbai-Delhi route Jet's tickets are priced at around Rs 2,499 for travel in August while the second cheapest fare is on offer at Rs 3,163.
Last week SpiceJet carried out two sales coinciding with airline's tenth anniversary. IndiGo too was offering discounted tickets while Vistara is offering attractive 90 days advance purchase fares.
