With Anmol Ambani’s induction into Reliance Cap board ratified by the AGM, the 3rd generation has well and truly taken charge at the two arms of the Ambani enpire.

Here’s a quick at the two cousins, Akash and Anmol.

With Anmol Anil Ambani’s appointment as director of Reliance Capital being confirmed by the AGM, next-generation’s ascent in brothers Ambanis’ business empire has now been formalised.

Earlier this month, Akash Ambani made a splashy entry at the launch of father Mukesh’s flagship Reliance Jio, to oversee which project he was lured back to India.

While the 24-year-old Anmol, who has been described by those close to the family as taking after the pater familias, Dhirubhai, for his low-profile manner and non-flashy demeanour, will earn a salary of Rs 10 lakh, Akash’s emoluments are not known.

Both Mukesh and Anil had joined their father Dhirubhai business while in their early 20s.

Anmol, whose Twitter activity reflects his low-profile nature, having only one post so far, a retweet at that, did his BSc in management from Warwick Business School, the UK, while Akash did his bachelor in economics from Brown University, USA.

After two years of active involvement with the company’s various operations, including famously the negotiations with Nippon Life to increase stake in Reliance Life Insurance, Anmol was inducted into Reliance Capital’s board last month, a decision that was ratified by the AGM on Tuesday, while Akash was all set to find work in the USA till his father threw the challenge of digitally empowering 1.2 billion Indians through Reliance Jio.

While Anmol will be involved in finance, Akash is involved in operations.

But what everyone watching India’s most discussed business family agrees upon is that the challenges facing the two cousins are the same: Taking their flagship to the next level.
