M&M 98-99 net profit down 8 pc to Rs 2.3 billion

Tractor and utility vehicle major Mahindra and Mahindra today said its net profit dipped by eight per cent to Rs 2.3 billion for the financial year 1998-99 from Rs 2.5 billion a year ago.

Sales in 1998-99 were at Rs 34.63 billion, up 2.7 per cent from Rs 33.72 billion the previous year.

The company said it proposes to pay shareholders a dividend of Rs 5.50 per Rs 10 share for 1998-99.
